Hey guys, went to Georgia trade school certified in SMAW 3G 4G FCAW 3G 4G now mig welding aluminum in a small shop building custom awnings and canopies for the southeast. Been here for over 6 months welding for over a year. I am looking for the next step up to my career and wanted yall to shed some wisdom and knowledge. I want to find a company or the right field of work to where i can look 10 years ahead and be comfortable where I'm at. When I say comfortable I mean COMFORTABLE. Been thinking about getting in to the pipeline or a union job but both seem to have a downside- work discontinues at some point and you have to find somewhere else to go, or go on strike1: Anybody need a helper on the pipeline?2: where are some of the best unions- or- where is the best Union?3: what fields of work and career path do you old heads advise a young welder to get into?Looking for a job that will have steady, promised work for the next 10 years. A job that is willing to build their Employees to excellence. Any knowledge is appreciated BLUECOLLAR |
