So...……...I made lunch the other day.

Forgot about the pot being on the stove

  Boiled it dry

K'kins got home, and took one look, and it was out to the shop.  The pot no longer was able to sit flat on the burner grate because the heat had warped the bottom, and bowed it.  She decided this was unacceptable, this bein' a nice Revere Ware pot.

Gently "bumped" it back to shape, and all's good again.  I got to sleep in the house

Reply:That is one of my mom's favorite pots...if I had damaged it as a child, at age 49 I still wouldn't be allowed in the house.Excellent save

Reply:Had to do the same with a Farberware pan (30 + year wedding gift) and my hydraulic press.  Bead blasted the inside of another after boiling it dry.  Fine material followed with 1500 wet sanding and it was good as new.
Reply:I never used and arbor press, so I don't know how useful they are, But, I guess I will add one to the list of shop equipment to buy.Oh, by the way sammm, my grandmother had a set of those same pots. My brother, being the kinda person that will not leave the past, still has them in mint condition. And I'm sure he went on ebay to purchase one or more of the same sets, just in case a piece gets ruined. lolLast edited by Stick-man; 10-25-2020 at 09:18 PM."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! Reply:Just asking... what is so special about those pots? Maybe I am missing something...Mikel

Reply:Not to mention that the extra thickness helps when using cookware as a wheel chock.
Reply:LOL.... reminds me of a time my wife was working nights and I came home from the bar about the time she was leaving. I won't say what she did when I asked what was for supper, but I did find some frozen perogies I tossed in a wok full of oil just before I sat down at the computer and put on the headset. A few minutes later (yes, I forgot) I thought I could see something flying around in the kitchen. Apparently the perogies had started "popping" and had been for a while. I ran towards the stove only to find out the floor was now covered in canola oil which I slipped in. I went sliding into the stove on my back with both feet in the air and hit it with my butt... looking up in horror I saw the wok tipping towards my crotch as perogies continued to stick to the ceiling. You can't imagine the relief I felt when it dropped back to the burner, but now hot oil and gotten on the stove top and ignited... putting 3 ft of flames up. Long story short, I got everything cleaned up, and once you pop the guts out of a perogy, it's kinda like a really cool potato chip.... very tasty, but a lot of work.250 amp Miller DialArc AC/DC StickF-225 amp Forney AC Stick230 amp Sears AC StickLincoln 180C MIGVictor Medalist 350 O/ACut 50 PlasmaLes

It needs a good cleaning & a new paint job! But I got it cheap due to it's condition & it needed the arm repaired.Doug
