Like the subject says.. Im looking at mag drills. Originally I thought I wanted a Haugen. Then I realized only the one model has reverse. I want to do drilling and some tapping with it. Im leaning toward the Fein JMU 137-2QW https://www.zoro.com/fein-magnetic-d...qw/i/G0993190/ It is two speed, has reverse and includes a 3 jaw chuck and coolant setup. Its toward the upper end of what Im able to spend at $1329. I could do the tapping with a cordless drill. Ive had good luck with it over the years and Im not tapping tons of holes. If I go without reverse the Hougen 904S gets great reviews from guys that own them. How does the 904 do with twist drills in their 3 jaw chuck?Interested in feedback and recommendations. Thank you!Miller Syncrowave 180SD
Reply:Its hard to find info or reviews on the Fein I linked to above. I found this video that shows more than their stock photo. I think it does what I need.Miller Syncrowave 180SD

Reply:I have the 904s. Not sure a chuck is recommended for it. There is a chuck and adapter available. I was considering the kit, however the decided against it, since the stack would often be longer than the drill clearance. I use annular cutters from 1/2 to 1-1/2". Nice drill, if it fits you needs.
Reply:Despite there being very limited info, the Fein JMU 137-2QW is exactly what I was looking for. It came with a very nice 3/4 Weldon Rohm three jaw chuck. Two speed gear box and electronic variable speed in those two gear ranges. Reverse is a momentary pushbutton. Should work really well for tapping. Its about 50 pounds lighter than the Milwaukees with similar features and its everything Ill need in a mag drill. Excited to put it to use!
