Reply:Ok, went to the website... I think I see what you are saying... The PowerTIG 200 is really just supposed to be used as a TIG machine but, you can do stick with it if you want. ... Reply:The use of 6010 is being replaced in the industry, and in general purpose welding, it isn't really needed for basic fabrication.  It will be around forever, but the use of it is declining in favor of TIG root, 7018 all the way out, and dual shield.  The unit excels with rods like 7018, 7014 etc.  It's just not designed for cellulose based rods. Depending upon brand and skill, you can run E6011 ok.   But it is among the smoothest with 7018. Digitally controlled doesn't  have anything to do with it.  The 200DV is currently digitally controlled, though it has input knobs on the machine.We have various models of our PowerARC line.  Different functions are available for different models. Some are stick oriented, with TIG capability, some offer equally professional capability in either TIG or Stick modes.  Lift start TIG with TIG rig is done everyday out in the field.   So some people might disagree with what is more important or more functional with different welders.
