I was changing out the nozzle on the original torch of my PM 1000 and saw what looks like corrosion. I use it maybe 1-2 times a month and have never had any issues. Do I need to worry about this? Miller Dynasty 200 DXMillermatic 211Lincoln X-Tractor 1GCHypertherm Powermax 1000
Reply:that's arcing between the electrode and the piston. Either caused by dirt between them or the electrode is hanging up a littlein the swirl baffle. Clean off piston with scotchbrite and replace the electrode and swirl baffle before using again. That is the power connection between the electrode and piston so keep it clean. You should be able to assemble the nozzle, electrode and swirl baffle and hold between your fingers. Electrode should move freelywhen you move your hand.
