Thermal arc 95S repair question

I was misinformed of the operation specs of the TA 95S welder.I bought this machine used but working perfect/tig and stick, but no operating manual.I was told that it could be used 110/120 volt or 220 with adaptor.But come to find out it is a 20 amp adaptor plug not 220 volt input.Well my big mistake for not taking the time to look closer to the warning. My bad! I pluged the TA 95S adaptor plug to a step up transformer to 220 volts.As soon as I pluged it in, I heard a pop, like a small fire cracker sound. I unpluged it quickly. I am sure it will not work now.I pulled the cover off and noticed a odd smell and I only noticed a black burnt area on/under a flat round looking electronic part # W-LR201My question? does anyone know if I really messed up in cost repair by applying 220 volts to my welder instead of 110/120 volt machine. Or may be a simple fix?I couldn't find a fuse on the machine. I would have thought all welders come with fuses, unless I missed the location of the fuse.Does anyone have any idea of a repair cost on my TA 95S ? or know someone that can answer or fix my welder. I can solder and use a test meter but not much electronic experience. I appreciate any advice.THE OLDER I GET! Reply:I believe that is a current sensing resistor.Feel for you - I've seen the "magic smoke" come from stuff I own before too.

Reply:Thermal does not fix them under warranty. Just replaces them.They are little great unit's but throw away type of machine Does not mean that can't be fixed though.. I just got that info from the thermal rep, when the machines first came out in the states. Was tested in Australia before here, and passed with flying colors. It seems to me a fuse should have blown first, but it was my stupid mistake for not doing more research first. It is a simple machine and worked perfect for the intended use. I feel like your
