Why doesn't NR-212 come in .035?

Reply:Imma guess not for multipass welding?  Well.that aint the answer.  Says for single or multipass.Last edited by tapwelder; 07-26-2021 at 06:23 PM.

Reply:Might not be able to get enough flux in the wire in .035" size or maybe there's not enough demand for it in .035".

That kinda ties into why I was asking. NR-211 .035 is supposed to be good for up to 5/16" regardless of number of passes.  .045 is really too big for thinner stuff. If I wanted to weld 1/8" metal with .035 wire, I'd HAVE to use NR-211 because NR212 doesn't come that size.

Reply:You will find the smaller size wire has fewer types.I use E71T-11 0.030" for my welding. Dave

Reply:I think aluminum is added to give higher deposition rates but could be a deoxidizer too. E70-T4 has more aluminum in it and is a high production wire. It's the wire that caused Lincoln to put seismic rating on specific wires.
