I want to try a spoolgun with my Ironman230 for welding some aluminum handrails on pontoon boats, I have a tig welder that I use already but view this as a challenge.I know the gun Hobart calls for is around $600, this unit sells for $150 with 20 foot of cable and correct connectors Has anyone tried one of these from China offered on e bay? Reply:I have one of these set up for my Thermal Arc 181 I. It works ok but the wire speed is limited. My 181 will move 600 ft. per min. on the mig setting. This spool gun won't thereby limiting how much voltage you can use.
