i just bought a welder from a garage sale for $300, its a  craftsman mig 265.........is it any good?  it looks pretty new, i tried it, alls i need to buy is the regulator and a helmet and im set

Reply:It should do you fine.  As you become experienced, and if you get the welding hook as deep in your gut as I did, you'll be looking to upgrade at some point.  Enjoy.You can drag it down to the Boardwalks at Long Branch (still there?), Asbury Park or Atlantic City and weld dodads for the summer folk from Philly!!Hank
