anyone have one? can i buy the tig torch pedal for it? is it worth 200 bucks?im new to welding, im about 5 months into it..
Reply:which model inverter is it? I have an 80amp model that runs on 110volts. its ok for real light stuff and light tig work, but it was less than 200 bucks. if the model your talking about is the one i am thinking about, its rated at 130amps for tig and only 90amps for stickand runs off of 220volts, not much room for heavy stuff when your ready for heavier projects. just depends on what you plan to use it for.Last edited by smawgmaw; 02-24-2005 at 11:19 PM.
Reply:Blacksheep,I purchased the Dragster 85 inverter from B&R Welder Repair Service inWhite Plains, Maryland 20695. Their phone # is 800 7833073.Keep in mind the Dragster 85 is a 110V unit and not set up for tig. You canpurchase a 220V tig ready inverter - call B&R for prices.
Reply:HTP has an 85amp inverter that runs off of 115volts and is capable of tig. You have to add the tig torch as it does not come with it. Weighs about 8lbs and I believe sells for under $300 dollars. It is dc only and scratch start tig. Check it out at www.usaweld.com. Forget about the Harbor Freight unit, I strongly feel you would be disappointed.A few of my toys !LinuxMintManjaroMiller Roughneck 2E Lincoln WeldPak 100HTP MTS 160 Chicago Electric 80amp Inverter Victor O/A
