If u you teaching some who had never welded but hs bee around it would would be the first thig to have them do??
Reply:Just put the torch in his/her hand and grab theres when he/she starts welding and give them a feel for what its suppose to feel like. Then let them go!!!!!!
Reply:When I was in college I used to be the lab assistant in the metals classes, and we always started with gas welding.  (O/A)  Then went to stick, and then Mig.   We found that people who could gas weld seamed to pick up the other processes easier.  JacksonI'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:I think Little John is on track. Robin Hood raised him right.   Anytime I 've taught, I hold the stinger and they lightly grasp my hand so any and all movement can be felt. If they can see the weld and feel exactlywhat your hand is doing, they get a feel for a good weld right away. Also, get comfy. It's tough for a new addict,er 'scuse me, a new weldor to make good welds if they are all wobbly trying to do it at arms length.
Reply:Little John, That is a good tip......    For really gettin' a feel' for things, But Safety is the First thing that needs to be on the learning list...and you didn't fall off the wagon yesterday...........
