Hello Everyone, Just wondering if anyone on this site is from Phoenix, Az. And if you know of any jobs here that are desperately needing welders. Female welders!
Reply:I am in Mesa Arizona,  I just weld on the side so i dont keep my ear out so much for open welding positions.  There are tons and tons of fab shops around Az, i would think some would be hiring.  If i hear of anything i will post it.  What kind of welding do you do? all or certain types?

Reply:I'm not from that side of the country, but some weldors post their cards (or info about their business) at the local welding/gas suppliers, tractor stores, cattle auctions, homedepots, etc.  Most places like this have bulletin boards for this kind of thing.  If you are looking for more regular work, you might want to contact a local engineering firm and ask who they use for metal work and go put in an application with them.  Around here there are several big engineering/building firms that do most of the big steel projects, but they subcontract out.If you have your certs up to date, you might try your local power company.  They hire gobs of weldors around here (also through subcontractors), but they are very picky (certs are very important to these folks).Just as an asside, there is a local female mechanic that has her own shop called, "my favorite mechanic is a woman" and has a big picture of Rosie the Riveter on the side of her shop.  She gets lots of business from females that have been given reason for not trusting male mechanics...You might try her tactic, just applied to welding.Last edited by smithboy; 12-22-2005 at 09:22 PM.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:Im in the phoenix area.  What all kinds of welding do you do and do you have any experience in general fabrication?  This would be mainly race car fabrication.
