I've been looking to purchase a welder and am interested in Clarke's 180 wirefeed mig.  looks like the miller175/lincoln175 wire feeds, but a few hundred cheaper.  Can anyone compare the brands or models from experience?  and what am i going to wish i had AFTER i bought the cheaper($) one?  thanks.
Reply:Personally I view it as parts and service.  You will have more accessiblity to parts and service with a lincoln or a miller.  However, depends on what you are looking for in that machine.  Clarke seems to be doing alright.  I wouldnt discount it if youre just starting out and po' boy'n it.  I personally choose miller/linc but thats got to do with what I will use this machine for.  Im using it to make money.  If im waiting on parts or something because my local dist dont carry it or there hard to get its gonna stink.   But again Clarke is been around a lil while.  Its not a chicago electric just remember thatIF it Catches...Let it Burn
