I went to a auction yesterday and bought a pallet of wire which I thought was all 70S6-045. When we got in last night and unloaded it there is 6 rolls of Hobart Fab Shield 21B .045. at the bottom of the pallet. Has any of you have experiance with this wire? Years ago when coal mining was booming we ran a lot of large inner-shield wire but I have never run any of this type.
Reply:Finney, I was recently intro'd to this wire and I like it. It runs almost as smooth as Linc nr211mp and way better than some others. Check specs on it and if you do red iron you'll like it.
Reply:Yup, 21B is my favorite flux core to run. I just like the way it runs better. Does a good job all around, IMO.
Reply:Hobart 21B is considered a premium general-purpose FCAW wire. If you thought you were getting a good deal on solid wire and got flux core instead, then you got an even better deal. You could probably move it on ebay for a significant profit.-Heath
Reply:Thanks for the info, there was 64 spools (10/11lb) on the pallet and I gave $625.00 for the pallet. That works out to about $9.77 per spool against $27.00 from AIRGAS. So I will be able to save that much.
Reply:keep them stored properly. Most wire will degrade with exposure.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'. |
