ESAB equipment

Hi I have been a member of plowsite.com and resetly signed up for weldingweb.com. I have a question about the ESAB Migmaster 250, and the ESAB Powercut 875 Plasmarc Plasma Cutter. Good, bad or otherwise. I have been hobby welding for 15 years and now have a nice shop to work in and I want to purchase good equipment to use. Thanks
Reply:For me if I couldn't have a lincoln thenit would be ESAB, a shop next door to me runs nothing but ESAB stuff same MIG and Plasma that you mentioned. I will say that I never seen any one run a machine harder than Dave's crew and they hold up great. As a matter of fact he has one that is 5+ yrs old. They are rebuildable and bullet proof, his machines regularly run at the higher end of their duty cycles for hours on end Fire doesn't burn a good Christian !
Reply:I have read a lot about ESAB but I dont know anyone that uses them day in and day out. I purchased the migmaster 250 and love it. I should be picking up the Plamsa this week. I will probably never use it to duty cycle so if they beat on it everyday it should last me a life time.
Reply:If i think about it in the next day or so I will pickup a pic or two if these machines and how rough there enviroment is, you can't go wrong they are my second joice Fire doesn't burn a good Christian !
Reply:Your 250 migmaster is really a 300 amp machine. It will output almost30 volts at that amperage.It dropped to 24 volts at this amps. Out of it's range really but way beyonda Miller or Lincoln 250. Attached Images
Reply:ESAB is a swedish company, that bought the old Linde line of welders. So some ESAB machines are descended from Linde machines, while others are newer, european designed inverter machines. But they are high quality- Linde has always been No. 3, behind Miller and Lincoln, in terms of making high quality american machines.Everybody I know who has an ESAB machine likes it, and they are mostly US made.
