I will build a small trailer this weekend for a friend of mine. It will measure 6'x4'. He will use it to carry a sign for his business, maybe 200 lbs, and once in a while he will use it to carry two oil drums. I'm planing on using angle iron or c channel, the extruded one not the sheet rolled in to a C. Which type of rod should I use? I have a stick AC welder and a TIG/Stick DC welder. My mig is currently not working.
Reply:on that.....go with 6013. Nothing major there. or a 7014 if you want easy chipping pretty. But you will need to run it hotter than a 6013.
Reply:Thanks a lot.Cheers,Thormold
Reply:I'm with Emerick on this one.Kalroy"It's all about the OODA Loop."
Reply:TIG it with ER70s-2 and make it look pretty, about 150 to 175 amps(3/32 or 1/8 rod)
Reply:I'd use 6013 too.
Reply:Thanks a lot everybody. I will start the trailer tomorrow. If I can find my camera with all the connector to the computer, I will take a couple of pictures and post them. Thanks a lot,Cheers,Thormold |
