Will a 5500 watt generator run a millermatic 210 wire feed welder? I'll be using flux core wire and welding 3x3x1/4 angle iron. this job is outside in a remote location and 220 volt power is not availble. Thanks Kevin
Reply:I know my 9000 watt wouldn't pull a 255 powermig to it's full voltage. I'm sure someone else can give a good technical answer .DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools
Reply:You won't like it. You can only supply your MM210 with 2/3 of the power that it will want for welding that material, as a rough estimate. You may be able to experiment and find a power setting that will let you do it slowly or with multiple passes, would be my guess.
Reply:Is the generator a welder/generator? Could you hook up a wire feeder to it? I'm not sure, I just got a portable with a wire feeder.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools |
