i have a old ac arc welder, i am working on an old beet-up truck trying to weld the tranfer case back in. i was using both 6011 and 6013 rod both 3/32 nether rod is working well for me mind u i am welding upside down should i go to 1/8 rod ? or less heat ? i was running the heat an about 40 amps with the 3/32 rod. i am not getting the job done please help.

Reply:When you say welding a transfer case back in, you are just talking about a steel cross member or bracket right ? You are not welding on a cast iron or cast aluminum case ? |
