I am considering these two machines. Given they are about the same dollars here, within $100 of each other, which would be better for around the farm and bulldozer? I am not going into the welding business by any means. I have an old bobcat 225 g that's motor is shot and rather than repair it, I'm going to replace it. I do repairs to my bulldozer, pipe fences, BBq pits, some fabricating, etc. I would like to be able to have as much generator as possible too. Rarely need it, but when you do it is nice to have it. At some time I may run a suitcase MIg off of the welder, but I doubt it. More likely to run a small plasma cutter. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Reply:I've enjoyed my Ranger so far. I have nothing against Miller though. I haven't had to deal with Lincoln nor Miller support. I have always heard Miller had better support.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools
Reply:I was recently in the same boat. Bobus 225G with a bad gen part that is obsolete...with a new engine to boot..go figger. I replaced the Bobus with a TB302 and am extremely pleased. I am not sure about the Ranger since I have never even seen one in person, much less run the silly thing. I do know the TB is a powerhouse in the wire dept. It is rated at 325 max and they say your results will vary. I have seen my meter hit 350a! The Miller people said I can't over do it, so let it run how it wants. I highly recommend the 302. |
