Does anybody know of a good source for weldable steel plumbing elbows and tees, or Weld ELs as many people call them. I priced them locally here in Oklahoma city today, and they want $9.00 for a 1-1/2 inch ID schedule 40 elbow, and $30.00 for a Tee. Im sure there is at least one person on the welding web that has bought some before, and didnt pay this much for them. I attached a picture of what they look like. Reply:I buy all of my fittings like that from ACE Stainless Supply. They don't carry much regular carbon steel but they have some and their prices seem to be better than what you were quoted.ACE Stainless Supply- PaulLast edited by ZTFab; 02-19-2007 at 09:23 PM.http://all-a-cart.comWelding Cart Kits and accessories

Reply:If you guys need flanges, let me know, I have my own stuff cut locally on a nice CNC machine. I have T3 flanges, T4 flanes and quite a few other flanges. Mine are quite a bit less than the big turbo resellers.John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com

Reply:Those should be a stock item at your local Ferguson.  Check the yellow pages for one close to you. I am an outside salesman for them down in Orlando and we have them sitting on the shelves all day long.  Schedule 40, 150lb rating standard butt-weld fittings.
Reply:Because of where i live, its pretty rural, so i buy alot of this type of fittings and parts on ebay.  Its actually usually a bit cheaper, even with the shipping.  Check it out, this is a good ebay source for this type of stainless fitting....   http://cgi.ebay.com/1-5-Stainless-St...QQcmdZViewItem
Reply:You might want to rummage around in your local scrap yard. I have bought boxes and boxes of steel weld pipe fittings for $0.30 a pound. Stainless goes for around $1.50 and is almost always 316L. Of course you may not find the size you want, but the potential savings can be worth the effort. Just ask them if they have any pipe fittings.
Reply:Thanks for the help guys, you ahve given me loads of good info and affordable avenues for buying these things. I will be building a Turbo manifold here in the near future, and weld els are supposed to be the trick to a solid unbreakable homemade manifold.Miller Syncrowave 200Hobart Handler 140Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 38E-Z Tube BenderPlasma Cam DHC2
