mine welding in alaska

my sister and mom are moving to ak, for their travelling nursing job. they will be there for about 1 year or more. they want my wife and i to go with them. i went to ajb.org , there are some mine welding jobs posted there, but didn't list salaries or bonuses.anyone on the board weld in the gold mines, i am wondering what the pay will be. just approximately."Retreat hell, were just fighting in the other direction"Miller Trailblazer 302, Extreme 12 VS, Dimension 400, Spectrum 375, HF 251D-1, Milermatic 251 w/ spoolgun  Hypertherm 1000Lincoln sp 1702000 F-450 to haul it

Reply:[QUOTEanyone on the board weld in the gold mines, i am wondering what the pay will be. just approximately.[/QUOTE]You will have to ask questions about the mine operation.  Some pay top dollar and others less.  I have made placer mining equipment for Yukon and the area.   There are all kinds of ways to mine gold.... you might be on a placer mine that usually is shut down in the winter.   Small operations sometimes pay under the table in product.   If it is hard rock underground pay will depend on your location.  You might be upstairs most of the time maintaining crushers and the like.  You might try a labour search for Alaska.  Somewhere on the net there will be average wages for different occupations posted.
