Changing Out Wire

Guys I am getting ready to change out my wire. I have cut the line behind where it feeds in and removed the spool. Now, how do I get the wire from the maching and out of my line and gun to put the new wire spool on and rethread to run? ThanksWhitey
Reply:Maybe I'm the only one. I cut the wire past the contact tip, screw off the contact tip (over the now clean end of wire) and then pull the spool off the resistor and wind up the wire, making sure not to let it get away when it comes back through the drive rolls. 10 feet of wire is 10 feet of wire.

Reply:[QUOTE=weldrwomn]10 feet of wire may be well and good when you are somewhere else in the spool besides the end.  At the end of the spool, if all you have is that 10 feet of wire, it won't do you a bit of good to save it (for welding anyways)I always save the wire for TIG welding, unless of course, it's flux core!-----john
