It's an L-Tec L-250 STK 250A with a Hobart Hefty feeder hooked up. Here's my question...What is this stuff worth? It's operational of course. Also, what are some issues I may encounter running this feeder with a tig power unit? Attached Images
Reply:Oh forgot to mention, it's a Magnum 400 gun too.
Reply:Pretty nice looking machines.  I think the hefty has a switch for CC/CV.  It will work, but not near as nice as with a CV power supply. The Hefty has to be worth $500 give or take.  I have no idea about the tig machine.DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Yes, it does have a cc/cv switch inside on the upper right corner near the front of the feeder. What would work better? What kind of problems can you forsee with this setup as is? Thanks!
Reply:I have an LN-25 that is similar setup to your Hefty.  Putting the switch on CC the wire feeder will try to keep the voltage constant by changing the wire speed.  The power source will try to keep the current constant.  So its a tug of war between the two manchines.  It will weld.  The hotter you use it, the better .  As in the bigger the plate, the better the two will get along.Just try it....David Real world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
