Welding School Question

Hey welders,  New to these forums.I am a scenic painter and I'm trying to learn more about the other avenues of set construction and fabrications.  I am very interested in welding (professional not hobby) and I was wondering if anyone knew any good schools/courses where I can get certified as a welder in the NYC area (NY and NJ area also).  If anyone can held me out I would be very grateful.  Thank you!
Reply:Welcome...I hold Tig classes in Mass every-once-in-awhile for Free if interested......zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:hi TimS search this section for Zaps tig class. there have been a few so far. and a couple days ago was the last post for the next class thats coming soon.i definately recommend it, its a great time, and very informative.i had never tig'd before my first class, and i can actually stick non ferrous metal together and lay a bead (not like ZAP's but a bead none the less lol)
Reply:If you're willing to move a little bit further left, the Pennsylvania College of Technology is an excellent school, and offers a 1 year certificate program in addition to the associates and bachelor's programs.  It's an AWS test facility, so if there is a particular certification you're looking for, it can be arranged to test there at a reduced cost for students.
