Reply:If you are asking for advice, you need to tell us what you want to do. JohnSMAW,GMAW,FCAW,GTAW,SAW,PAC/PAW/OFCand Shielding Gases. There all here. :
Reply:That is a really good point. A 140 i would say should weld up to 1/4 steel pretty easy with out any type of bevel. You are pretty limited to transfer modes. You won't be able to spray transfer or globular transfer. you really should do more research and make sure that machine is right for your needs. --Gol'

Reply:Duty cycle is a concern, but it can be worked around. Machines that small are for gauge metal and the like....They are intended for the weekend welder to make widgets and lawn ornaments, minor repairs around the house - wine racks, newspaper stands, crafts, etc.If your intentions are much more than that, it would be in your best interests to consider a larger machine. Are you able to inform us as to what materials you are planning to work with??? A little more information is required to see if the 140 will be able to do what you want.Last edited by Black Wolf; 12-26-2007 at 02:08 PM.Later,Jason |
