Ever hear of these?

I started running the 220 line and buying a new Hobart 187. Thank you to everyone who helped out.I still liked the stick welding and want to practice, but I'm not rich. So buying a new mig and stick welder I can't do. Also running the 220 line is adding to the expense.So i put out a "wanted add" on Craigs List for a used stick welder like the Lincoln AC225. I have had replies for other welders. I tried doing an internet search on the models and cam up with nothing. Anyone ever hear of these and what do you think?"AJAX Mase made here in Rochester woks great have a 20ft cord, I paid $95 bucks for the cord i am asking $175""Airco 225 AC arc welder asking $100"New to this, so anything other than a Lincoln, Miller or Hobart I wouldn't know if it is good or bad. Reply:Well, there;s been a great many transformer buzz box type welders made and most of them last a long time. I haven't heard of the Ajax. I haven't personally used the Airco Bbut if it's in good shape and works that's not a bad deal.
Reply:Airco are good machines but i would personally want and AC/DC machine. Have paitence and shop around you'll find one at a good price. --Gol'
Reply:I'm pretty sure you can still buy an ac225 buzzer for around $200 brand new. Some lesser brands less than that. Take the advice of others here and hold out for ac/dc.SA200,Ranger8,Trailblazer251NT,MM250,Dayton225AC,T  D-XL75,SpoolMate3545SGA100C,HF-15-1  RFCS-14 When I stick it, it stays stuck!
Reply:Get a used LINCOLN AC / DC machine.Otherwise your electrode selection will be somewhat limited.You can find them used for almost the same price as the AC only machine.

Reply:Agreed if all you got is AC thats fine, but if you got a chance to pick go DC or AC/DC. Practice with your 187 while you save. I got my dad a Craftsman AC/DC 225/140 welder a few years ago for $349 and it rocks. Used probably $150 to $200 Steel Thunder Welding LLC. Reply:I used an Ajax Mase for years, as I remember it was a DC only machine. I used it only for SMAW. I believe you can get a new Lincoln ACDC tombstone for less than $250.00. Jimmy
