Hello all,First let me start by saying I am not a welder. I do weld and fabricate, have been for several years and have yet to have anything come apart. That being said, I purchased a Schumacher Turbo 145 Mig/Flux Welder about 10 years ago. I have only ever worked on 1/8"- 5/16" steel stock using 035 flux core wire. I now find the need to weld body panel patches on a project I am rebuilding. My welder came with a compressed gas regulator. The manual is vague as to connecting gas to the welder. I am hopeful that someone on the forum can get me welding with 024 wire and 75%-25% Argon-CO2 using my machine. Thanks,[email protected]
Reply:There should be a fitting on it some where that takes the gas hose. The gas should already be plumbed to the gun. I do not know that model or brand. You will also have to switch polarity.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:David,Tonite I put the welder on the bench and a took a closer look. I found the fitting on the back of the unit near the top. I have to find a local source for the gas, wire and tips. I emailed the manufacturer. They have been out of the welding business for a while. Not much help. Thanks for your response.MV
Reply:Where was the welder made? How about a pic of the unit and the nozzle?
Reply:I have welded with flux core for years the gas shielding type is your mig gun set up for gas shielding. I'm not sure put the mig guns i have seen set up for self shielding flux core don't have gas deffuser. |
