Reply:Answer any question directly and to the point. Keep it short and sweet. But as Zap said, be yourself.Good luckMiller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.
Reply:Good luck.  I have hired mechanics.  I learned the one that comes back to "see if we made a decision yet" is the one that really wants the job.  Be your self, put your best foot forward. DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Maintain eye contact, be sure and confidant of yourself but don't oversell yourself. Be honest but don't give more info than is required. DaveI am what I am, Deal with it!If necessity is the Mother of Invention, I must be the Father of Desperation!
Reply:Most of all, relax .  Be friendly and honest.  Ask questions too, not dumb ones though.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:Yeah, dress appropriately ( don't wear a tux, but no shorts either), ask well thought out question, don't smoke before, or chew gum during the interview.  Remember the interviewer's name(s), and use it when you thank him for the interview.  An interview is your chance to sell yourself.  Don't make crap up, but don't be afraid to list your abilities.

Reply:I've hired a ton of people, we use an interview technique best remembered as STAR's.Situation/Task......what happened, what was neededAction.....what you didResults.......what came out of it.Follows the theory that your past performance is the best indiator of future behaviors. Questions usually start with "tell me of a time you had to.....". If they start with those type of questions....keep in mind what they are looking for. Good luck!!If you don't want to stand behind our Troops, feel free to stand in front of them.
Reply:As some one who does interviews, be personable ask how they are doing make conversation if you have to walk from room to room. make eye contact, and sound self confident. The one thing I hate it the bumbling around looking for an answer. If it cant come to you in about 3 seconds move on, mybe some minor details take a little bit of time but the most of the story should be able to come to mind rather quickly. Let them know of your abilities, what you have done, where it was. What schooling have you had. I consider myself a pretty good people person and I try to use that to the best of my abilites, if I say something and I get a comment back I always try to take it a little more personable with the person doing the interview, Because who are they going to remember they guy who just talked about what he did and what he can do, or the guy who had the same kind of car in high school or is into something simular. Make your self stand out in their memory.
Reply:I hire welders, and the two most common "mistakes" candidates make are:1.  Talking beyond the level of their knowledge.  Giving a wrong answer is worse than just saying "Gee, i don't know".2.  The absolute worst offence.  "Can I borrow a hood and gloves for the bench test?"  You wouldn't believe how many guys show up for a welding interview and don't bring their tools with them.(and remeber to turn on the shield gas before the bench test!)I r 2 a perfessional
Reply:For engineering/technical positions, the most common question I have encountered is "tell me about yourself."  That is a wide open chance to make your pitch, and if you are prepared ahead of time to answer it, it may make or break your chance at getting hired.  Always be ready to answer with your strengths and what you bring to the company.  It is not a time to discuss your hobbies and outside interests UNLESS they bring something positive to the job.
