I know that you can weld in all positions with certain electrodes, but why can you weld in all positions with different electrodes. As said by CHENRY:you cant weld on a thingamajig like that. are you even certified to do thingamajig welding ? I once saw an improperly welded thingamajig fail and eleventy twelvoteen things got ballywhacked. I dont think i would risk it.
Reply:Because some electrodes make welds that are too fluid and solidify slower, which means that it could/will drip out of the joint before it turns back into a solid metal.Filler that drips out of the joint isn't holding the joint together.  It also looks bad, and drips onto you.  Molten steel dripping onto your body is not always conducive to calm methodical fine motor skills, especially if you are not wearing the proper protective equipment.
Reply:ahhh it all makes sense now.As said by CHENRY:you cant weld on a thingamajig like that. are you even certified to do thingamajig welding ? I once saw an improperly welded thingamajig fail and eleventy twelvoteen things got ballywhacked. I dont think i would risk it.
