I have decided to sell my century welder, I was advised that it isn't powerful enough for what I need. However I spotted a Weld Mark SP 135 at a pawn shop, I can pick it up for $250.00. It has Lincoln Electric written down on the face of the machine. It has infinet heat and wire speed controls. Does any body know if these are as good as a lincoln SP 135 ? I want to run gas and weld 3/16 steel with it.
Reply:Weld Mark is generally pretty good.If it has lincoln electric written on it, it was probably made by Lincoln and branded by weld mark. So it is probably the same machine on the inside. The Welder Shop has great deals and reviews on Hobart, Miller and Lincoln Welders.
Reply:What are you making out of 3/16" steel with the GMAW process to where a 120V machine is what you want on purpose? How powerful was your Century?
Reply:if we're talking about the same lincoln all it has is 4 heat taps
Reply:weldbead, the weldmark that I'm looking at has an infinite heat selector like the lincoln SP 135 plus,( yu-no like the ones at the welding store) the machine looks identical, exept that it is a light green color instead of the lincoln red.
Reply:dune ill try and post a foto tonight of my lincoln. infinite settings beats taps, i didnt know lincoln had infinite settings on a 135 sp ....
Reply:sorry mins is a model sp135t, team may mean taps..? Attached Images
Reply:Yes, the T was the tapped model and the + was the variable model. |
