I would like to try the .023 mig wire but i don't have any tips that small. can i use the .035 tips or would this cause a problem. thanks for your help.
Reply:Use .025 for the .023. The current transfers to the wire in the contact tip. A loose fit will result in arcing inside the tip, stuck wire, and unhappiness for you. Not to mention going through an awful lot of contact tips. If you can't get them locally for your gun try weldingsupply.com.The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. Reply:Run some .025 wire through your .035 tip, beat the bore down tight onto the wire with a hammer, then extract the wire. There you go!
