good buy on table?

I just won a welding table on ebay.  Is it a good deal?  it's 48"x48" and 5/8 thick.  it weighs over 600 pounds( they say). I just been buying welding stuff up that I think is a good Idea.

Reply:I have a table that I was looking for a piece of metal for the top.  At the metal supply they wanted  .75 per lbs. for used metal.  I need to be checking out the scrap yards.

Reply:I have not seen this in person.  maybe I should of (damn). I hope its flat.  I did'nt think that 5/8 was bendable.  I have metal for bracing/bottom shelf.  Im going to pick it up. its like 60 miles away.   i'm pretty sure shipping would of killed me.
Reply:I bought my 1/2" top from the steel yard, new piece. It was crowned in both directions from the shear. Will it fit in the back of a pick up, or are you using a trailer, How heavy, take a buddy or two.Tim Beeker.
Reply:Looks like you bought that from Reliable Tool in Irwindale? If so, that's about 20mins West of me and I have bought a lot of machinery/items from them over the years. Reply:Certainly looks like a workable table to me! Reply:dont forget to get under it and look at the welds where the legs and plate meet..braces  would be nice and you could put your feet on em when you're sitting down
