Ok so I can drive 25min to AirGas for RG60 or I can use coathangars or....ACE Hardware has thin steel rod 1/16" in long lengths. That would work for filler right? I'm not building anything really crucial. Just patio furniture and decorative stuff. I'm thinking it would be fine.Thoughts from the informed welcome.Lincoln PowerMig 180cVictor O/ABandaids and aspirinI don't know what I don't know!?
Reply:I am betting it will be fine. One way to find out, weld some up, and do a destructive bend test with it. If it doesn't crack, you are good to go for your purposes!!And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.

Reply:Rg-45 flows easier than RG-60. For patio furniture and decorative stuff, I'd use coathanger. However, my coathanger is old enough to still have some steel in it. Watch your puddle and 'float out' the impurities. If that piece of 'hanger' won't weld, throw it away and try another; some weld, some don't. It's not magic, just melting stuff; like a candle.
