Hello,  My name is Jacob.  I just completed building a shop and am looking forward to rigging it out.  I have never owned any welding equipment of my own, always used dad's or brother's.  I was always partial to the miller welders we have at work and like them very much.  My question is about Longevity and Hobart and everlast equipment.  Longevity and Everlast each have the best prices, but how do these compare to miller and lincoln?  I am not a professional, but enjoy all my hobbies.  I am currently looking at multifunction machines.  I am planning on having a plasma, Mig, and arc capabilities.  i also need to be able to weld aluminum.  any coments or advice would be appreciated.Jacob
Reply:It mightiness also encourage others to buy Z House.'s printers to set up kindred publication dealings. One Seattle-area start-up already has, and ffxi gil  it has revealed far writer obligation than it can appendage.
Reply:I would recommend the Miller 212 millermatic MIg welder with the 3035 spool gun and twin bottle kit.  This would give you a nice Mig wellder that can weld alum and steel.  A Miller maxstar 150 stl.  This is a nice mini combo stick and tig welder with a reall nice price.  Or a miller thunderbolt Stick welder, very inexpensive and reliable stick welder. Then a hypertherm 600 plasma cutter.   Mutli purpose machines are very expensive and never really can do everything well.  I like single purpose machines for this reason, its designed to do one thing and one thing only really well.   These are a list of nice equipment that would be great for a hobbiest who wants real power and if it turns into a career could go right into business with this equipment.  You never can go wrong with a miller welder.Lincoln 300 Vantage 2008300 Commander 1999SA250 1999SA200 1968Miller Syncrowave 200XMT350MPA/S-52E/xr-15Xtreme 12vs Millermatic 251 w/30A  Millermatic 251 Dialarc 250 Hypertherm 1250 GEKA & Bantom Ironwokers
Reply:Lizard, welcome to the forums.  as far as your question about Hobart, Longevity, and Everlast equipment, I would have no problem buying a Hobart machine, but as far as quality and dependability I don;t think ANY imported machine will compete with a name brand like Lincoln, Miller, or Hobart.  Yes they are cheaper, but there is a reason....  If you read over the internet on different forums you will read horror story after story of imported machines crapping out, or even arriving DOA.  Do your self a favor and buy a quality machine that you will be able to find service for when the time arrives.  If you are on a budget then i would seriously suggest looking for some good used equipment from miller, lincoln, or hobart instead of the imports.  Good luck in your decision, and again welcome to the forums.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
