hey guys just got my copy of "The Procedure Handbook Of Arc Welding".Seems like its a great reference. Glad I have it as I am in school to become a weldor. I havent had much time to look through it yet though...
Reply:its always the first book i go to when have a question, keep it handy...
Reply:If you have a question about any type of arc welding you can find the answer in the "Bible". The price is cheap for all the information it contains. Been using it since the early '70s and still refer to it occasionally.
Reply:First reference book I had in my collection! Though I like "Metals and How to Weld Them" even more.
Reply:Thats definately one of the necessary pieces of reference to have around. The Welder Shop has great deals and reviews on Hobart, Miller and Lincoln Welders.
Reply:It's one of the few publications on welding that I'd reccomend. Most are full or wives tales and outdated stuff. Miller's Tig welding handbook that they have online is really good and accurate also.
Reply:When I got my Bible, many years ago, I couldn't put it down. It hooked me like a novel.9-11-2001......We Will Never ForgetRetired desk jockey. Hobby weldor with a little training. Craftsman O/A---Flat, Vert, Ovhd, Horz. Miller Syncrowave 250

For example, I have an old (copyright 1951, 1958) copy of Modern Welding Practice by Athouse and Turnquist which talks about Bare, Dusted and Woven Flux Electrodes. It does have a lot of good basic explanation. Books like this sometimes can still be found in libraries, or sell cheaply in bookstores, and are worth having if just for the historical aspects.
