Does anyone have information on what type of plastic, other than black, hard or molded, that plastic of a Jackson EQC shell is? I need to know for an assigment but the jackson website doesnt share this information and I have long thrown away all the information that came with the helmet when I bought it four years ago. I am curious to know whether it is polyurethane or polyethylene or something else. Any ideas?
Reply:Give them a call, they're great on the phone. I believe the traditional Jackson shell is made of a different material than the new Halo series, so they can probably tell you what thats made of as well.
Reply:There are ways to identify plastics by holding a sample in a gas flame. There is a good resource at ModernPlastics.com:http://www.modernplastics.com/how_to...y_plastics.htmJust don't put a flame to the cabinet, take a sample scraping or cut a sliver off some hidden location and hold that in the gas flame with pliers. -MondoMember, AWSLincoln ProMIG 140Lincoln AC TombstoneCraftsman Lathe 12 x 24 c1935Atlas MFC Horizontal MillCraftsman Commercial Lathe 12 x 36 c1970- - - I'll just keep on keepin' on.
Reply:According to the Manufacturer's label inside my Jackson, it is made out of Nylon.Regards, KevinI r 2 a perfessional |
