It just seems like the same question comes up every other day. If people took the time to do a 30 second search they would find the answer. There is countless duplicate topics on here. --Gol'

Reply:This is not a problem unique to this forum or any forum for that matter.  I moderate on a shooting forum and one of our favorites is "which is better a 30-06 or a 270"  We see that question over and over and over.  I sure wouldn't expect it to stop.  Every new guy on a forum just can't wait to ask his favorite question.  By the way I've yet to see a game animal that could tell the difference.Yes the search function is nice, but a member bubbling over with a question usually forgets that there is even a search function in his haste to find out what AC/DC means.Bob from Idaho

Reply:Ever been to a small town diner around breakfast time?Same group of old guys, sittin' at the same table they've been sittin' at for 20 yrs., same thing for breakfast, talkin' about the very same thing they talked about the day before. Those ol' guys are startin' to die off, and I think a lot of people miss them.  It was a nice predictable thing every mornin'.  Made people feel that life is good, and stable.Could be we all are the next generation of old guys in the making.  I think that'd be a good thing.  I know I sure miss it.Sincerely - Geezer In Training"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:May be we should have a " frequently asked questions" section as well as the search feature!,
Reply:I just love the search police. Seems they show up every now and then and post the same thing over and over. One of them need to volunteer to screen all posts and see if  the questions are up to their high standard. Then maybe we could get around having to read the same post about using the search function over and over!

Reply:One of the things that makes frequenting forums a very positive experience is the continual interaction with members when they aske a question. How are we to know that said person didn't already search the forums and not find what they wanted (they might not be proficient in the art of keyword search), or maybe they wanted further clarification. Many times though, a person wants to feel like they are part of a group. I have one forum I frequent regularly, and I cull information from current topics as well as from he archives. However, I don't want to post a topic because people there are a bunch of "you know whats."So if anything, if a person asks a redundant question, they are valuing your advice, and looking to interact. They could be like me in the aforementioned paragraph and just lurk because they think everyone here is a jerk, or they could spam the forum with topics such as "why don't people use the search feature......" which if someone took the time to search, they'd be sure to find it.......
