New RIG NEED HELP

Hi guys I have to make a choice by monday on a new truck for my rig.A F550 with the 6.4 diesel out the door for 28100.00 Or a Sterling Bullet with a 6.7 Cummins in it out the door 34000.00both truck are same on stuff that the truck comes with but which one will hold up on over the road durability need opinions thank youWELD IT RIGHT OR GO HOME!!!

Reply:Sterling is folding up.  Might want to check warranty issues with them.

Reply:sterling will be forced to support their vehicles for 10 years by federal law.   Daimler Benz is their parent company who also owns freightliner.I would go with the sterling hands down.  I used to bleed ford blue but the 6.4L and the 6.0L changed my mind.Ford ended up buying back my 2008 6.4L they were trying to make trade me another one but I had to get a lawyer to convince them to give me my money back.Last edited by Dualie; 12-21-2008 at 03:00 AM.Vantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.
Reply:The fords used to be the way t go but when they started cracking down on the emmisions the motors went to crap.Tough as nails and damn near as smart
Reply:Get the cummins!  I have a 2004 Dodge 3500 4X4 Crew cab with the 5.9 cummins and love it!  I love the mileage I get as well!  I can get between 18 to 21 mpg on the highway when running empty at 65 mph!  I don't know how the new 6.7 liter engines do for mileage,  but I would buy the Sterling just to get the cummins!  When I was looking to buy mine, ( Because I could not afford a new one, and was looking at used ones) it was not uncommon to see them with 300 to 500 thousand miles on them and still running strong!Here is what I have so Far:Miller:Shop Master 300 A A/C D/CS 22a Wire FeederRFC-14 Tig PedalHF-251D High Freq. Reply:The Cummins is a true heavy duty rated motor. The Ford 6.4 is a medium duty motor. Motor to motor, the Cummins is a better engine. Add to that the issues with the Ford Turbo issues, and the fact that the Ford cab has to come off  completely for major service means I would take the Cummins motored truck.And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
