Hey there-A guy I know is selling a lincoln idealarc ac/dc/dc+ 300/300 with a high frequency unit and a water cooler- is this a good setup if everything is in working order or is it a rigged unreliable setup? I have been looking for a used thermal arc 185 for a while now but have not had much luck...Thanks!Andrew

Reply:I have used one, its a nice machine. I have a TA-185 and prefer it. The 300/300 was popping a 50 amp breaker when I was welding 1/4" aluminum. TA-185 did the job, but at MAX.David Real world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.

Reply:There's one on the Sacramento Craigslist tonight (Oroville zip code ) asking $400 for Idealarc Tig 300/300, single phase, with Bernard cooler.Seller will take offers.Wow, 100 amp input... I can't do that or I'd be there.
Reply:Who says you have to run it wide open? You can do a lot on a 50 or 60A breaker. |
