Okay, My father used to switch polarity or the cables around on our SA200 when he was doing certain jobs with rod and when he was using his LN25. I dont remember why, and Im sure he told me many times but I wasnt the one welding at that time. Could anyone out there tell me WHY? and which way to have them for running the LN25?? The LN25 is running flux-core wire, if that matters.  I remember he did it for overheads, or veriticles too... I just dont remember clearly WHY or when  or which way for which applications. Any help would be appreciated. Thankyou. The first step to having everything you want is to want everything you have.
Reply:Self shielding flux-core wires are run reverse polarity. DCEN, I am asumeing you are running somthing like NR-211 or NR-232.
