I can't for the life of me find how much this stuff weighs per foot, there is an auction tomorrow and there is a large lot of junk welding leads, wondering if I can turn a profit scrappin it.Any ideas?Yup
Reply:Burnit here's what I found in MSC's catalouge.250' 1/0 111 lbs 500' 1/0 219.5 lbs250' 2/0 140 lbs 500' 2/0 222 lbs 250' 3/0 178 lbs 500' 3/0 356 lbs250' 4/0 220 lbs. 500' 4/0 440 lbsThat shgould get you relatively close if you compare the 2 lengths and subtract out for the reels.Hope this helps.Shame copper and alum has dropped lately compared to what it was.
Reply:Yeah I know its low now, I am gonna call the yards here and see what they are paying,he's got thousands of feet of the stuff, wont take much of a price difference per pound to make some money. I highly doubt he is selling it for less than scrap price, why would he? I know its not stolen.Besides, what the hell else am I doing tomorrow? Yup
Reply:Hey Burnit! If you find about 100' of that 1/0 or some 0/0 thats even remotely usable that you can grab, I will pay you to ship it to me!At a profit to you of course! I need some to make some 25' extension leads out of.Ken.Last edited by Ken Dennis; 03-07-2009 at 12:55 PM.#1. If you don't like what I wrote, or if it offends you, then don't read it!#2.
