How to remove weld from pipe fence?

Hi, I should start by say that we know nothing about welding, but we're trying to wing it - that's typically how we approach most things and so far nothing has blown up. .We have a pipe fence around our backyard that the previous owners did that we want to use to partially fence our property.  We need to separate about 6 areas, which obviously requires removing the welds.Here are a couple of example of what we need to remove.  We'd appreciate any suggestions.  The cheaper, the better.  Thanks, Kari
Reply:If you have 120 VAC power available, an electric powered reciprocating saw (e.g., Sawsall) with good metal cutting blades is probably the cheapest.  Another cheap out is a 7" or 9" electric grinder with a cut off wheel installed.  If you are trained to use an oxy-fuel cutting torch and have access to a torch outfit and gas cylinders, that is probably the easiest.  You'd need electricity and compressed air or nitrogen for a plasma cutter.  If you plan to weld the fence back together and you have no welding experience, I recommend a flux-core wire feed welder or a MIG welder.  Most beginners find vertical and overhead welding with either of these two welding methods easy to learn.TeddCoHTP Microcut 400 & Invertig 160DC  Smith Dual Guard MD-510 OA Rig  Lincoln SP135+  Hobart Stickmate LX 235/160
Reply:Teddco gave you the best advice for salvage of the pieces.  Use a cutoff wheel on a grinder.Flexovit makes the "Razorblade".  A very narrow grinding wheel used to make cuts.Cut all of the welds through, or as near as you can get, then pull or hammer the parts apart.  Once a weld is either ground or cut most way through, it's very weak.Watch out when using narrow grinding wheels, they can bind in the cut and kick the grinder back, or out of your hands.  Go slow, and keep your hands and body braced for a kickback."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
