So how much welding is involved in the A/C contractoring. I am talking about the chillers and boilers not the standard DX systems. Is a 6g pipe welding certificate necessary?Also, most of the stuff is stick welded right?

Reply:almost all chilled water work is stick , 6010 root and 7018 out.hot water the same. as steam pressure increases, you'll encounter xray or dye tests, , possibly tig root..certification usually required..it is a loose term in the lower pressure part of the hvac industry..ive seen illegible documents from freddies welding school saying that joe putz  can weld...if the schedule needs to be met and joe aint real drunk they'll let him...
