trying to weld a lawn mower exsuasght with an ac machine using a 6011 machine what heat should i have it at i used 140 and made a big cut now so i have to fill it in so any help would be great and has any one hear of a E 1503 rod
Reply:Use low amps 70-75 and don't stay in one spot more than a sec. it will take a while to do it but ride the edges basically a c pattern.. Also stop and let it cool for a few min will help fill it in.. After you get the hole filled it lay stringers across where the hole was to strengthen it but be careful not to go to slow you will blow threw again.. let cool for a few min. in between stringers.  Hope this helps.Last edited by Graydevil; 08-05-2009 at 10:08 PM.
Reply:If you can put a piece of copper pipe behind the hole it will help you fill the hole.

Reply:hey guys thanks for the help yes would have been cheaper to just replace but i wanted to try it never welded that thin  metal funny part is ran  out of 6011's after store closed so had ot finish with 6010 rods on ac looks nasty and im ashamed but its fixed and i learned alot also any body in kansas needing 7018 ia or 6010's ive got proly 2-250 or so rods i cant use becuse i have an ac machine now. id do a willing trade for 6011 and 7014

Reply:no wont be buying another welder for a wile this suits my purpose and i got master the primitive stuff like ac stick before i can move on tommorow ill post some beads for the fourum to grade
