I guess this is kind've a project, but I thought I would pass this along .What you will see in the two photo's is what I hope a fix for this machines belt slipping issues. It is just some 1" tube that I sliced at an angle and some epoxy (permatex). It's function is to provide the tensioning screw with a stop so it will stop sliding on the casting . If the epoxy does not hold I will go to plan B, but that will involve alot more work. "after a long day of doing nothing...its gooood to kick back" Pumbaa
Reply:X;Are you having problems with the tension bolt slipping?I have a lock nut on mine. You can use a 5/16" x 18 nut the nut locks the motor tension belt, and keeps it from movingLast edited by fla jim; 01-11-2004 at 07:18 PM.

Reply:Hey thanks, but the bolt is not really coming unscrewed rather the end that touches the casting slips forward-the more you tighten it the more it moves forward. The sheet-metal plate is pretty flimsy so it has probally bent, but the whole setup must move in an arc and there is no pivot on the screw setup to allow the forces a straight push against the saws casting.  However if this stop stays in place I think I will add a stop nut like you have-could not hurt. Thanks."after a long day of doing nothing...its gooood to kick back" Pumbaa
Reply:Also I don't have any adjustment left on the flat plate that mounts the motor-belts have probally stretched and I need to lift up pretty good on screw to get decent tension, I do have some new 'link' belts enroute though."after a long day of doing nothing...its gooood to kick back" Pumbaa
Reply:X; I looked closer at the picture. I can see where the end of the mount flexed. You could try this. If you have a short piece of 3/8" bar stock. Drill and tap it 5/16" 18. Measure and drill another hole to match the location of the end of motor adjustment slot. bolt the bar to that slot. drill out the original tension bolt hole to a clearance hole (11/32") that would give you a tension adjustment that wouldn't flex. Good luck
Reply:Planet X, Jim,Those are good ideas for the fix. I am going to try that on mine. Thanks for the ideas.
Reply:Well Fla Jim, I forget I had bolt screwed down and started 'taping' on motor bracket to align w/drive pulley-knocked bushing off.. ha ha.Your nut dealie is working like a champ for some reason when I tighten the nut it pulls the tensioning screw straight- Anyway thanks bandsaw back doing what it was born for."after a long day of doing nothing...its gooood to kick back" Pumbaa
