A little something we've been working on to stay out of trouble... Jeep YJ cage: Attached ImagesDriving a Jeep is like drinking tequila... At some point you're gonna get the misimpression that you're bulletproof and invisible... At that point, if you're smart, all you can do is hang on and pray that it ends soon. -- Me.
Reply:One more time, with These are in the advance tack-fit stage, still a long way and a lot of gusseting to go... Attached ImagesDriving a Jeep is like drinking tequila... Reply:If you put a pair of stub axels and wheels on it you might get good mileage in the inverted position.Maybe you should just get a Unimog.Appreciation Gains You Recognition-

Reply:I actually am limited by storage space that size slides perfectly under the counter. I have several, and they have yet to become cost prohibitive (traded some old/free CO2 cylinders in on them).Driving a Jeep is like drinking tequila... Reply:Herb, who is the cage for? And the lifted jeep I can see, yours?James  (Rock_Climber)If I don't get the shop finished soon, I won't be able to afford any DOM tube. How I spent my weekend. Attached Images
Reply:Now thats a good piece of work-methinks someone has been hanging out over at blue torch fabworks. Anyway I like how you pulled it off, looks like it will have no problem holding the Jeep up when it goes belly-playing 'follow the leader' w/a cruiser"after a long day of doing nothing...its gooood to kick back" Pumbaa
Reply:Nice cage! Ive been wanting to do the same thing but space it WAY limited... Base Houseing = NO spaceMike 93 YJwww.moabjeeper.com
Reply:James: That cage is for Doc/Mercer, you can see the rest of the pics here:http://www.printroom.com/ViewAlbum.a...lbum_id=170782The Jeep looks pretty unimpressive with the rollers we had to use to get it to fin into the garage...PlanetX: I freely admit BlueTorch did provide a LOT of inspiration, but there are a lot of things that are uniquely mine/the owner's in the design. I've also not had the pleasure of meeting Dan and the crew in person as yet, but they make some very nice stuff. As for "follow the leader", I'd be willing to put Ol' Doc up against a lot of folks in a lot of vehicles... Bring awn the croozah's :-)Driving a Jeep is like drinking tequila... At some point you're gonna get the misimpression that you're bulletproof and invisible... Reply:Not trying to steal an thunder from you Bluesman- you are very productive building cages- this one is the one I have liked the best that you have shown so far. Bluetorch's stuff, not only looks good, but they freely put up a great projects page so there ideas can be seen. Plus the triangulation/bracing used makes sense to me.I will be blending ideas from Bluetorch and this link  for my cage. Here is that link .Roll cage symposium"after a long day of doing nothing...its gooood to kick back" Pumbaa
Reply:Plantet X: I didn't take it that way... I believe in giving credit where it's due, and a lot of it does go to BTF. I just WISH I could afford some time to go down there and learn from those guys.People keep giving me a bunch of guff around here cause my junk has been out of commission for about a year, waiting on a cage. But I find that every one I do teaches me something new. About the time I get to the point where one is ready, I see something I could not live with reasonably... So it goes on the block (just enough to recoup for the next one), and Mark Next goes onto the drawing board...Those are some nice cages on that link, I'd hate to think of the contortions they had to go through to get them welded in there...Driving a Jeep is like drinking tequila...
