I have a question and not sure if this is the proper place. Recently I was given a Lincoln Electric Arc Welder, #AC 225-5. Seems to be in good shape, but has no manual and none of the welding cables - electrodes - ground. All I have is the basic box. Does anyone know where I can order or find reasonable priced parts / cables. I hate to spend a lot because I am not sure if it even works. Any suggestions. Thanks
Reply:As far as a manual, you can probably download one from Lincoln's web site. You may need either the model or code number or both, so have them handy when you visit the site. If you know someone who has cables that could be borrowed and hooked up temporarily, you might try that route first. Most of these type welders very rarely have a problem that cause them not to operate, so chances are good it will. Unless you were given it because it didnt work. Anyway, good luck.A few of my toys !LinuxMintManjaroMiller Roughneck 2E Lincoln WeldPak 100HTP MTS 160 Chicago Electric 80amp Inverter Victor O/A
Reply:If you're buying a lot of cable. Last time I looked around these guys beat everyone's prices.http://www.cableyard.com/catalog/For eletrode holders or ground clamps, I'd probably usehttp://www.cyberweld.com.If you want it today and don't want to wait for shipping then try the local welding supply, Tractor supply, Home depot, Lowes, etc, etc. Don't expect great quality stuff from the big box stores.Dynasty200DX w/coolmate1MM210MM VintageESAB miniarc161ltsLincoln AC225Victor O/A, Smith AW1ACutmaster 81IR 2475N7.5FPRage3Jancy USA1019" SBAEAD-200LE
Reply:mulligan,Is that AC-225/5 as in an engine drive unit or AC-225-S as in an AKA 230VAC "Buzz Box"?I suspect it's the buzz box but either way you can get your manual here http://www.mylincolnelectric.com/Cat...ualsearch.aspxMM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
