broke 2 tines on my sh* t fork that goes on skid steer.they are 1" cold roll sqaure stock.what is the best to go about welding it back up. have a miller bobcat 250. sorry no pictures.
Reply:well did they just crack or are they fully broke off? If they are fully broke off and you dont want to replace the entire fork with new stock and reweld, your next option is to join the two pieces together and make a double vee bevel to attain full penetration. alternate your welding on both sides to counteract distortion.

Reply:are you sure they are 1"? I've repaired a few that were 1 1/8". I just vee'd them out and MIG'd them. They later bent again so I made new ones out of an arbor shaft for a disk. So far so good.My name's not Jim.... |
