Hey all,Looking for some input,Ill be going to welding school in Feb. 24 weeks of night classes...I have a Lincoln Weld-Pac 100 HD, great for the small stuff I do round my house. My company owns Bobcat 250s'. And Im told we weld almost exclusively in DC.Im looking at some smaller DC welders, TIG is not important, but I do want to try it.Miller Maxstar 150Lincoln Invertec V155And the 240v buzz boxes that are DC Capable. My father-in-law has the Hobart stickmate, but he hasnt even plugged it in yet.I have collected some scrap pipe from an on-going 6", 8" and 10" VIC job scd 40.Would the Inverters handle this? Just tryin to get my feet wet...
Reply:The inverters will do it, however I suggest you start practicing on plate before trying pipe. For tig with the Maxstar, choose the STL or STH model. The S model is stick-only.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op |
