I've got 45 each, .065 1 7/8 pipe to squeeze to .128 about 3" on the ends. I see the presses come in 6, 12, 20 ton. I tried 4 pound hammer with an anvil. It looked bad, was hard to do and the two ends did not match exactly (twisted).Vern
Reply:Squeezing 0.65 wall pipe/tube isn't all that hard. Heck, you did it with a 4 lb hammer!Any of those presses would have enough snot to squeeze some 0.065 wall material. So pick what you want to be able to do -other- jobs.Me? I have a HF 20 ton. 6 seemed to small, 12 seemed to flimsy, 20 seemed OK. The best laid schemes ... Gang oft agley ...
Reply:Thank you, for your reply. I got the 12 ton. Now I'm looking for ways to build or buy dyes for 1 7/8 pipe. My sockets go to 1 1/2 inch.Vern |
